Creativity is something I tend to have in abundance, however I have the issue where I write blog posts and don't finish them, or think of awesome projects to undertake but somewhere inbetween the original thought stage and actually getting my stuff together and DOING it, I get distracted. This may be a result of a short attention span or possibly a lack of motivation, or just the feeling that there isn't enough time to sit down and do it. Whichever the reason, it's something that myself and many of my friends have had discussions about, so it's obviously not just me :P

What is the solution? Well, there has been talk of putting together geek nights. A hybrid of both dealing with above mentioned problem, but also where we can socialize in a more 'real' situation, I'm mainly thinking about my circle of Jaikunauts who are also very close in the RL. Possibly these kids can also benefit from a Geek out sessions.

Nothing has been formalized, I plan to get things a little bit more solidified about the details with Steven, but here are my thoughts so far:

• A time to geek out with normal internets things: IRC, Jaiku, IM, iChat, MMOs etc etc while also being surrounded by real people (yes! Leaving the comfortable safe apartment and breathe non-air-conditioned air!!! -Motivational talks included)
• A time to brain storm for new side projects etc, storyboard with yourself or with the help of others there
• Group Videogame sessions (PC/Console) - place to check out new games someone's bought (DS's??)
• This could also be the push to get people to /COOK FOOD/ and bring a dish- SUSTENANCE!!
• Could be a time for learning new stuff as well, if anyone is interested in learning something or teaching something geeky, that'd be fun as well, impromptu tutorials or walkthroughs etc on any topic really. BRAINEXPANSION!
• I think the main goal of the evening would be everyone has to create something, (code, art, iTunes playlist, tutorials, videos, etc etc) If we wanted to do things a bit more organized we could even have people declare what they plan to workon, and then everyone can check it out at the end of the night :)

All these are just ideas, I'd love to see who would be interested in something like this, and if they have ideas to improve the concept, or other comments.

Post-post thoughts:
- Need a place for posting things, what was covered during meetups for people who missed, possibly just as simple as a WIKI and Blog and a flickr group.

- We have locations we can do it already, but anyone wanting to host said event can get in touch with me or Steven.

- There also may be the issue of enough seating in some situations, if you have folding lawn chairs or something similar that is easy to bring along, that's also awesome.

EDIT: Added flickr group, have created disussion there, please add comments, thoughts etc, there.
