The New Theme

So, finally, finally, FINALLY, the new Xalking theme is up :P AHA.AHA.

I realize designing for yourself is hard, but this was insane. The theme is mostly finished, I have a bunch of ideas for future features, including some icons and tagged sections for better navigation of my work and art and all that, but for now it's running along pretty well.

Updates

Some may have noticed I have finally added an RSS link. heh. About time?
There's also separate sections for design and art work, maybe this well even be split off into a third section for themes, but for now that's fine.

The Same..?

Eh, so I kept the same layout with the content floated to the left rather than centered in the middle of the page... The funny thing is I very rarely design a site that isn't centered now. Maybe that's why I decided to keep mine on the left, originality and all that!

Drupalness

For those interested in what I'm using on a drupal side of things, I'm using seperate nodes with imagefield and views for the portfolio pages and the random work block.

CSS Tricks

Hehe, so, I decided to try creating my logo using Text rather than an image. Turned out pretty good... in fact I tried to use just html/css for my entire theme, but the stripes were giving me more trouble than they were worth so I strapped the idea... not that using images is bad, was more just something I was attempting.
