Organic Coffee, in the midst of Canadaline Construction
Trees Organic Coffee house.. Makes a very delicious Chai lattes, and really yummy looseleaf green tea bags. Friendly, warm atmosphere. Only serves 100% organic coffee, which is roasted on premises. Is a really great place to hang out with friends for a chat over coffee, or have a casual business meeting. I frequently go there to use their free w i-fi and chat about projects and life over a warm beverage.
Located on 450 Granville st. Always a quiet atmosphere, and large enough that even when there's a lot of people there, can always find a seat on either the very strange, but oddly comfortable wooden chairs, or a large comfy couch. They serve sandwiches, fresh soups and lots of pastries and cakes (the 'best cheesecake' in vancouver!), even some vegan items! They also offer catering.
The Naam Disaster
I had heard such good things about The Naam before finally going to it. Being a vegan for so many years it was great to go to a restraunt that served mostly vegan or at least vegetarian menu items and some organic options. I've since started eating sustainable fish/seafood (so my options are less limited now!)
I had tried a few times to go to Naam, when I lived in Kits, I used to walk by, and there was always this rediculous long lineup outside. One day I managed to get in without much of a wait. And I figured, it must be really good for such a lineup. But no. Was just an extremely tiny restraunt with only one server for all the tables.
I ordered a blueberry soyshake for a starting drink, and sesame fries with miso dressing for starters. Took a way too long for shake to arrive, and it was room temperature by the time it did. (however, was nice and smooth.. yum!)
